Players of Wuthering Waves should check their in-game mail, because Kuro Games has sent out a gift of 1,000 Astrites to all players to celebrate its nomination as Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2024. Astrites can be used to purchase character and weapon pulls in the game, so this is a great addition to players’ war chests – especially if they haven’t got their Camellya yet. 

 It’s basically a tradition at this point for gacha game developers to celebrate such nominations with some freebies – HoYoverse has done it in the last couple of years for its own games and may do so again for Zenless Zone Zero, as it was nominated alongside Wuthering Waves.   Unfortunately for both Chinese developers, their chances of taking home the win this year look a bit slim with Balatro and Pokémon TCG Pocket having been nominated for the same award. 

The poker-inspired roguelike will likely appeal more to the core gamers of the jury, while TCG Pocket is living in everyone’s heads rent-free and is bound to get votes for the virtue of being Pokémon. This means that HoYoverse’s win-streak – both Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail won this category in their debut years – will likely come to an end as well.  Still, a nomination in the year’s biggest industry awards is nothing to scoff at, especially as the start for Wuthering Waves was rougher than the studio would have liked.

It would have been a perfect day for the open-world RPG, had not The Game Awards’ social media editor made a little typo in the social media post announcing the nomination, calling the game “Withering Waves” by mistake. A harmless error, but fans naturally ran with it online – it’s not the best sub-narrative to have going on for your game at such an occasion.  Wuthering Waves is currently on version 1.4 and is gearing up for the release of update 2.0 at the start of 2025, which will see a new playable region released for the game.

Houston grinds out prime-time win. Houston got off to a hot start, then settled into a very underwhelming place for much of its Week 11 meeting with Dallas. The Texans can pat Joe Mixon on his shoulder pads for his contributions, because without him, the Monday night game would've lacked highlights. We knew Dallas wouldn't produce many (though the Cowboys did get one from KaVontae Turpin via a 64-yard touchdown reception), but the Texans lacked punch offensively for much of the night. Fortunately, Jalen Pitre and Derek Barnett teamed up to produce the best play of the night, with Barnett recording a strip-sack and Pitre rocketing his entire body into Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Guyton, forcing a fumble that Barnett recovered and returned for a score. That play put the Cowboys to bed and eliminated any intrigue in a game that was already expected to be a blowout, but needed a big defensive play to become one. They all count the same, though. Rush is better in second start, but not nearly good enough to win. Dallas didn't present a threat of any kind in its blowout loss to Philadelphia last week, which was also the team's first outing without Dak Prescott in 2024. The good news is that Cooper Rush was better in his second start, throwing for 354 yards and a touchdown, and stringing together enough drives to at least make this game interesting. The bad news is that Dallas asked him to throw 55 passes, failing to support him with a running game and expecting him to just make it work with CeeDee Lamb and Turpin. The two receivers finished with a combined 179 receiving yards and a score, but let's be honest, this offense isn't threatening most anyone right now. Unlike last week, that wasn't Rush's fault, but that also won't make Cowboys fans feel any better about the remainder of the 2024 season. Texans' offense is still leaving points on field. Look, it wasn't pretty for most of Monday night. Save for a quick-strike scoring drive to open the night, Houston's offense remained disjointed, especially on third down (the Texans finished 3 for 11). C.J. Stroud still isn't being protected consistently, and offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik seems to have lost his magic touch. And yet, the Texans are 7-4. Stroud still completed 23 of 34 passes for 257 yards, but didn't toss a touchdown pass and also threw a pretty ugly interception in the red zone. Luckily, they have Joe Mixon, who broke 100 yards on the night and scored three touchdowns on the ground. 

I have issues with how Houston handles its hurry-up attempts on third down, and when it tried it Monday night on third and a short 1, the call -- a sideline throw to Tank Dell -- was incredibly perplexing, regardless of the outcome (it failed). These things need to be fixed if the Texans hope to seriously contend beyond the dreadful AFC South. Anderson's presence was missed. By the end of the game, the numbers obscured this observation, but early on in this contest, it was shocking to see how often Cooper Rush had time to throw. Without Will Anderson Jr., Houston struggled mightily to generate a pass rush, instead electing to play coverage and hope the front four would break through eventually. They did, recording five sacks on the night, but for about two and a half quarters, it was clear the Texans very much missed their reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year. Barnett and Danielle Hunter ended up covering up for Anderson's absence, combining for three of the Texans' five sacks, but their pressure rate still landed at 26.2% on the night. That won't fly against better teams -- just look at what happened last week against Detroit. Cowboys continue miserable trudge to nowhere. Honestly, where does Dallas go from here? The sky is legitimately falling at AT&T Stadium, where the pregame descent of a metal piece of the facility's roof caused concern and forced officials to spring into action. We've already heard plenty about the Cowboys' issues with where the sun sets. 

They've lost their quarterback, they have at most two weapons in their lineup right now (Lamb and Turpin), and they aren't scaring anyone left on their schedule. Even Micah Parsons' return couldn't bring the defense out of its struggles, and with seven games left, there simply isn't much to look forward to for Dallas fans. Are coaching changes imminent? Perhaps. But before that happens, Cowboys fans are going to be forced to saddle up for more of these ugly outings in the final weeks of 2024. Perhaps they'll find their footing in two weeks against the Giants -- which, of course, will be far too late to save this season.   Next Gen Stats Insight from Texans-Cowboys (via NFL Pro): KaVontae Turpin reached a top speed of 22.36 mph on his 64-yard touchdown reception, the fastest speed by a ball carrier this season, and the fastest play by a Cowboys ball carrier in the NGS era (since 2016).  NFL Research: With Monday night's 34-10 loss to the Texans, the Cowboys have trailed by at least 20 points in six straight home games dating back to last season's Super Wild Card Weekend loss to Green Bay, which is an NFL record streak.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Houston Texans defeated the Dallas Cowboys 34-10 at AT&T Stadium for the first time in franchise history Monday and snapped a two-game losing streak.  The Texans were fueled by running back Joe Mixon's three rushing touchdowns and 109 rushing yards.  They jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, and their defense carried them for the rest of the game. Houston sacked Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush five times, intercepted him once and scored a touchdown on a strip sack.  The win puts the Texans two games ahead of the Indianapolis Colts, whom they have already beaten twice, in the AFC South, and their next two games are against the two-win Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars.  Here are the most important things to know from Monday night for both teams:   AP Photo/Jerome Miron  Houston Texans (7-4) Pivotal play: The defense put the game away in an unusual way early in the fourth quarter. Defensive end Derek Barnett had a strip sack, and Cowboys right tackle Tyler Guyton picked up the loose ball trying to run for the first down. Guyton didn't get far as safety Jalen Pitre knocked the ball out, and Barnett scooped the loose ball and sprinted into the end zone. 

The score put the Texans up 27-10 to help secure the victory.  Surprising performance: Coach DeMeco Ryans usually doesn't let cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. follow opposite star receivers. But against the Cowboys, he occasionally let Stingley follow All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and he answered the challenge. Stingley covered Lamb for 17 routes and allowed only two catches for 19 yards with an interception and two pass breakups while drawing an offensive pass interference. Rush had a passer rating of 3.5 when throwing in Stingley's direction, according to Next Gen Stats.  Troubling trend: The Texans had nine penalties for 69 yards, which allowed the Cowboys to hang around. The first play of the game was a 77-yard touchdown pass to wideout Nico Collins in his first game back after missing the previous five with a hamstring injury, but left tackle Laremy Tunsil was called for an illegal man downfield that nullified the play. The unit still scored thanks to a Mixon 45-yard rushing touchdown. But on the first drive of the third quarter, the Texans marched to the Cowboys' 5-yard line, and left guard Juice Scruggs was called for holding, which pushed the Texans to second-and-18. আমাদের আত্মত্যাগের কারণে এই গণঅভ্যুত্থান হয়েছে, আমরা নতুন একটা বাংলাদেশ পেয়েছি। আমরা কি তাহলে অবহেলা ডিজার্ব করি? অনেকের প্রাণ চলে গেছে, আমাদের কেউ হাত হারিয়েছে, কেউ পা, আবার কেউ চোখ। আমাদের প্রতি উদাসীনতা কেন? সরকারপ্রধান-উপদেষ্টারা কি পারেন না একবার এসে আমাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে– এভাবেই নিজের আক্ষেপের কথা জানাচ্ছিলেন জুলাই-আগস্টে বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনে একাধিক গুলি খেয়ে আহত নাদিম হাওলাদার। এমন আক্ষেপের মাঝেও কিছু আশা বুকে বেঁধে আছেন তিনি, হয়তো তাদের প্রতি উদাসীনতা দূর হবে। বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনে এখন পর্যন্ত নিহত ৮৭৫ জনের তালিকা হালনাগাদ করা হয়েছে। আহতের সংখ্যা ৬ হাজার ১৬৭ জন। তালিকা হালনাগাদের কাজ এখনও চলমান রয়েছে। যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে চূড়ান্ত তালিকা প্রকাশ করবে স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয়। আন্দোলনে আহতরা বর্তমানে বিভিন্ন সরকারি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন। এর মধ্যে ৮৫ জন চিকিৎসাধীন রাজধানীর জাতীয় অর্থোপেডিক হাসপাতাল ও পুনর্বাসন প্রতিষ্ঠানে (নিটোর) বা পঙ্গু হাসপাতালে। এ পর্যন্ত প্রায় ৮০০-এর বেশি আহত রোগী সেখান থেকে চিকিৎসা নিয়েছেন। তাদের মধ্যে হাত-পা কাটা গেছে ২১ জনের, যার মধ্যে ১৭ জনের পা এবং চার জনের হাত কাটা হয়েছে। এছাড়া আহত হয়ে হাসপাতালে  মৃত্যু হয়েছে ৬ জনের। সেখানে কয়েকজন আহতের সঙ্গে কথা বলার চেষ্টা করা হয়। আন্দোলনের ট্রমায় এখনও ভুগছেন অনেকে।

 জুলাইয়ের স্মৃতি ভুলে যেতে চান তারা। মনে করলেই তাদের শরীর কেঁপে ওঠে।  বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনে আহত নাদিম হাওলাদার পরিবারসহ থাকতেন রাজধানীর চিটাগাং রোডের পাশে, কাচপুর ব্রিজের কাছে। আন্দোলনের মধ্যে গত ২০ জুলাই নিরাপত্তা বাহিনীর গুলিতে আহত হন নাদিম। নিম্ন আয়ের পরিবারে বেড়ে ওঠা ২০ বছর বয়সী নাদিম সংসারে হাল ধরার চেষ্টা করছিলেন। আয় রোজগারের কারণে লেখাপড়া করতে পারেননি। গত ১৭ জুলাই কাজ ছেড়ে আন্দোলনে যুক্ত হন।   বাংলা ট্রিবিউনকে নাদিম বলেন, ‘প্রতিদিন কাজে যাওয়া-আসার সময় আন্দোলন দেখতাম। ফোনে ভিডিও, ধাওয়া-পাল্টা ধাওয়া দেখতাম। একদিন আর সহ্য হলো না, আমিও যাওয়া শুরু করলাম ১৭ জুলাই। ২০ জুলাই বিকালে প্লেনের জন্য ব্যবহার করা তেলের ট্যাংকার চিটাগাং রোড দিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় আমরা আটকে দেই। রাস্তায় আগুন ধরিয়ে রাস্তা বন্ধ করে দেই। হঠাৎ কোত্থেকে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী এলো। কথা নাই, বার্তা নাই, উল্টাপাল্টা গুলি শুরু করে। পরিস্থিতি এমন ছিল যে আমি যদি বুক পেতে দিতাম তাহলে মা আমার লাশটাও দেখতে পাইতো না। মেইন রোড থেকে গুলি করতে করতে তারা গলির ভিতরে ঢুকে পড়ে।

 আমিও তখন গলিতে ছিলাম।’   হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন আহতরা হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন আহতরা তিনি বলেন, ‘হঠাৎ দেখি আমার বাম হাত ঝুলতেসে। ছোটবেলায় একবার হাত ভেঙে গেসিলো, তাই ভাবছিলাম প্লাস্টার করলে ঠিক হয়ে যাবে। তখন দেখি হাত থেকে গরুর জবাই করলে যেভাবে রক্ত বাইর হয়, সেভাবে রক্ত পড়তেসে। আমি বারবার রাস্তায় পড়ে যাচ্ছিলাম, সহকর্মীরা ধরে আমাকে এলাকার একটা ফার্মেসিতে নিয়ে যায়। দোকানের লোক আমার অবস্থা দেখে শাটার বন্ধ করে দেয়। এরপর আমার ভাই আমাকে ধরে সাইনবোর্ড এলাকার একটা ক্লিনিকে নিয়ে যায়। সেখান থেকে আমাকে ঢাকা মেডিক্যাল নিয়ে যেতে বলে। আমার বাম হাতে কনুইয়ের নিচে একটা, ওপরে দুইটা এবং বুকের পাশে বগল বরাবর একটাসহ মোট ৪টা গুলি লাগে। কনুইয়ের নিচে গুলিটা কয়েকটা রগ নিয়ে মাংসসহ আলাদা হয়ে পড়ে যায়। কনুইয়ের ওপরের গুলিটা হাড় ভেঙে বের হয়ে যায়। বগলের পাশে যে গুলিটা লেগেছে, সেটা বের হয়ে যায়।’  নাদিম বলেন, ‘চিকিৎসার জন্য অনেক জায়গায় কয়েকবার আমাকে শরণাপন্ন হতে হয়েছে। প্রথমে ঢাকা মেডিক্যাল, সেখান থেকে হৃদরোগ ইনস্টিটিউট। হৃদরোগ ইনস্টিটিউট থেকে আবারও ঢাকা মেডিক্যালে পাঠানো হয় হাতের রগের ট্রিটমেন্টের পর। কিন্তু একটা কথা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে, গুলিবিদ্ধ আহতদের খুঁজে বের করা হচ্ছে মামলা দেওয়ার জন্য। তখন আমার পরিবার আমাকে বাসায় নিয়ে যায়। গত মাসের ২২ তারিখ পুনরায় পঙ্গু হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হই। এখানে আমার ভাঙা হাড়ের চিকিৎসা চলে। কয়েক দিন আগে অপারেশন করতে গিয়ে হাতের রগ কেটে গিয়েছিল। সেটার জন্য আমাকে আবার হৃদরোগ ইনস্টিটিউটে ভর্তি করা হয়।’   আক্ষেপের সুরে এই তরুণ বলেন, ‘স্বাস্থ্য উপদেষ্টা যেদিন পঙ্গুতে আসেন তখন আমি হৃদরোগ হাসপাতালেই ছিলাম। গতকাল (শনিবার) এখানে আসছি। সেদিন গণ্ডগোল হইসে, উনি আসছেন সবার সঙ্গে দেখা করুক, আমাদের সব ভাইকে দেখুক, আমাদের জন্যই তো আজ ওনারা এখনকার অবস্থানে আছেন। তিনি যদি এসে চারতলায় চার জনকে দেখে চলে যান, তাহলে এখানে যারা আছে তারা কি গুলি খায় নাই? এরা কি দেশের জন্য লড়াই করে নাই? সমন্বয়করাও তো দূরে দূরে, যেন আমরা তাদের কাছে অনেকটা অচেনা।

 প্রথমদিকে একদিন এসে খোঁজ নিয়ে গেছে, কিছু টাকা দিয়ে গেছে, আর কোনও খবর নাই। মনে হয় যেন ভিক্ষা দিয়ে চলে গেলো। সবচেয়ে বড় দুঃখ সরকারপ্রধান, যাকে আমরা বানালাম, তিনি একদিন সময় করতে পারলেন না আমাদের জন্য। সরকার অনুদান দেবে, সেটারও খোঁজ নাই। একদিন খোঁজ নিলাম, ফোন ধরে না, ফোন ধরলে বলে টাকা নাই, এখনও আসে নাই। টাকার জন্য তো আর আমরা লড়াই করি নাই। তাই আর ফোন দেই নাই। তিন দিনের মধ্যে দেবে বলছে সরকার, দেখি দেয় কিনা!’        নাদিমের পাশের বেডেই শুয়ে ছিলেন আন্দোলনে আহত মো. রাকিবুল ইসলাম। আন্দোলনের স্মৃতি মনে করে তিনি জানান, কাজে না গিয়ে আন্দোলনে জড়িয়ে পড়েন। সাভার এলাকার পাকিজা বাসস্ট্যান্ডের কাছেই একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানে চাকরি করতেন। সেখানে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে আন্দোলনে একাত্মতা জানিয়ে যোগ দেন। ধীরে ধীরে সেই আন্দোলন গিয়ে যুক্ত হয় জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে। আন্দোলন চলাকালে শিক্ষার্থীদের ধাওয়া খাওয়া দুই গাড়ির মধ্যবর্তী স্থানে চাপা পড়েন তিনি।  

রাকিবুল বলেন, ‘সাভার ডেইরি গেটের সামনে দুপুর দেড়টার দিকে দুই গাড়ির মাঝখানে পড়ে চাপা খাই আমি, রাস্তার সাইডে গিয়ে পড়ি। তখন শিক্ষার্থীরা ধরে আমাকে জাহাঙ্গীরনগরের মেডিক্যাল সেন্টারে নিয়ে যায়। সেখান থেকে প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা নিয়ে খুব কষ্টে বাসায় ফিরি।’  তিনি বলেন, ‘প্রথমে আমি পায়ের চিকিৎসার জন্য মিরপুর পক্ষাঘাতগ্রস্তদের পুনর্বাসন কেন্দ্র বা সেন্টার ফর দ্য রিহ্যাবিলিটেশন অব দ্য প্যারালাইজড (সিআরপি) সেন্টারে ভর্তি ছিলাম। সেখানে একটা অপারেশন করা হলো। কিন্তু হাঁটুতে যে সমস্যা সেটি ঠিক করা সম্ভব না বলে তারা আমাকে পঙ্গু হাসপাতালে রেফার করে দেয়। দুঃখের বিষয়, এখানে আবার প্রথম থেকে চিকিৎসা শুরু করলো। তারা সিআরপির ডাক্তারের সঙ্গে পরামর্শ করে চিকিৎসা এগিয়ে নিতে পারতো, কিন্তু এখানে সেই ধীরগতি।’

নতুন বাংলাদেশ শুধু নির্বাচনের মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। পুরো সরকারব্যবস্থার সংস্কার হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের প্রধান উপদেষ্টা ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস। কাতারভিত্তিক সম্প্রচারমাধ্যম আল জাজিরাকে দেওয়া এক সাক্ষাৎকারে তিনি বলেন, এমনকি সংবিধানও সংস্কার হচ্ছে। এই লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন সংস্কার কমিশন করা হচ্ছে উল্লেখ করে ড. ইউনূস বলেন,  দুটো প্রক্রিয়া একসঙ্গে চলছে- নির্বাচনের প্রস্তুতি এবং সব সংস্কার শেষ করার প্রস্তুতি।

সম্প্রতি আজারবাইজানের রাজধানী বাকুতে অনুষ্ঠিত জাতিসংঘের জলবায়ু সম্মেলনে (কপ২৯) জাতীয় ও বৈশ্বিক চ্যালেঞ্জ নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস।

সম্মেলনের ফাঁকে আল জাজিরাকে বিশেষ সাক্ষাৎকার দেন ড. ইউনূস। রবিবার (১৭ নভেম্বর) এই ভিডিও সাক্ষাৎকারটি সম্প্রচার করে আল-জাজিরা। সাক্ষাৎকারে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের প্রভাবে বাংলাদেশ যেসব সংকট মোকাবিলা করছে তা নিয়ে কথা বলেছেন ড. ইউনূস। পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশে চলমান সংস্কার প্রক্রিয়া, আগামী নির্বাচন, পরিবর্তিত পরিস্থিতিতে কূটনৈতিক সম্পর্ক এবং যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের নবনির্বাচিত প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্পের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক নিয়েও কথা বলেছেন তিনি। 

সাক্ষাৎকারে বাংলাদেশে আগামী নির্বাচনের সঠিক সময় সম্পর্কে জানতে চাওয়া হয়। কখন হবে নির্বাচন? এ বিষয়ে ড. ইউনূসের কোনও ভাবনা আছে কি না? অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের সময় সীমা কী হতে পারে?

এসব প্রশ্নের জবাবে ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস বলেন, ‘আমরা অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার। আমরা স্থায়ী সরকার নই। নিয়মিত সরকার পাঁচ বছরের হয়। নতুন সংবিধানে সরকারের মেয়াদ সম্ভবত চার বছর হতে পারে। কারণ, মানুষ সরকারের মেয়াদ কম চায়।’ 

অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের মেয়াদ চার বছরের কম হওয়া উচিত বলে উল্লেখ করেন তিনি। ড. ইউনূস বলেন, ‘এটা আরও কম হতে পারে। এটা পুরোটা নির্ভর করছে মানুষ কী চায়, রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো কী চায় তার ওপর। যদি রাজনৈতিক দলগুলো চায় সংস্কার ভুলে যাও, নির্বাচন দাও। তাহলে সেটাই করা হবে।’

তাহলে অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার প্রধান হিসেবে তিনি কি চার বছর থাকছেন? এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে ড. ইউনূস বলেন, ‘আমি বলেছি, সরকারের সর্বোচ্চ মেয়াদ হতে পারে চার বছর। তবে আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য তা নয়। আমাদের উদ্দেশ্য যত দ্রুত সম্ভব শেষ করা।’

সাক্ষাৎকারে ছাত্র-জনতার আন্দোলনের মুখে ভারতে আশ্রয় নেওয়া শেখ হাসিনার প্রসঙ্গও এসেছে। বাংলাদেশের বন্যা তথা জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের সঙ্গে হাসিনা সরকারের গত ১৬ বছরের শাসনের দুর্নীতি জড়িত বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন ড. ইউনূস। বাংলাদেশের পানির উৎস অন্য দেশগুলো। ফলে সেই দেশগুলোর সঙ্গে পানি ব্যবস্থানার ওপর জোর দিয়েছেন ড. ইউনূস। বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্র দুর্নীতিতে নিমজ্জিত বলে সাক্ষাৎকারে জানিয়েছেন তিনি। অবশ্য জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনে শুধু দেশে নয়, পুরো বিশ্বকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন তিনি। সেই সঙ্গে একটি/দুটি কর্মসূচি নয় বরং পুরো বিশ্ববাসীকে এ বিষয়ে সচেতন হওয়ার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস।

শেখ হাসিনা বিভিন্ন জায়গায় নিজেকে 'বাংলাদেশের  প্রধানমন্ত্রী’ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করছেন। বিষয়টিকে কীভাবে দেখছেন- এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে ড. ইউনূস বলেন, ‘তিনি (শেখ হাসিনা) বাংলাদেশকে অস্থিতিশীল করার চেষ্টা করছেন। ভারত থেকে বাংলাদেশে বিক্ষোভের ডাক দিচ্ছেন। এগুলো বাংলাদেশের জন্য উপকারী নয়।’ ভারতকে তার এসব বিষয় সম্পর্কে জানানো হয়েছে বলে উল্লেখ করেছেন প্রধান উপদেষ্টা। ভারতকে বলা হয়েছে, তাকে আশ্রয় দিচ্ছে, ঠিক আছে। কিন্তু এমনটা হতে থাকলে ভারতের কাছেই আবার অভিযোগ করা হবে।

ড. ইউনূস আরও বলেছেন, ‘তিনি (শেখ হাসিনা) নিজেকে অনেক কিছু বলতে পারেন। কিন্তু বাস্তবতা তা নয়। এমনকি ভারতও তাকে সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেছে। অথচ ভারতই তাকে আশ্রয় দিয়েছে। আশ্রয়দাতাই তাকে সাবেক বলছে।’

শেখ হাসিনাকে দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে কি না, এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে ড. ইউনূস বলেন, আইনি প্রক্রিয়া চলছে। দোষী সাব্যস্ত হলে তার প্রত্যাবর্তন চাওয়া হবে।

আইন উপদেষ্টা আসিফ নজরুল জানিয়েছেন, ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের যাত্রা শুরু হয়েছে। তিনি বলেন, নির্বাচন কমিশন গঠনে ইতোমধ্যে সার্চ কমিটি গঠিত হয়েছে। প্রধান উপদেষ্টা ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসের সইয়ের পর আজ মঙ্গলবার অথবা আগামীকাল বুধবার প্রজ্ঞাপন প্রকাশিত হবে।আজ সচিবালয়ে জাতিসংঘের মানবাধিকার হাইকমিশনার ফলকার টুর্কের সঙ্গে বৈঠকের পর সাংবাদিকদের সঙ্গে আলাপকালে আসিফ নজরুল এসব কথা বলেন। তিনি বলেন, সার্চ কমিটি গঠিত হলে নির্বাচন কমিশনও গঠন সম্পন্ন হবে।সার্চ কমিটির সদস্যসংখ্যা সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইলে আসিফ নজরুল বলেন, ‘আইনে যা বলা আছে, তাই হবে।’ তিনি আরও বলেন, ভোটার তালিকা নিয়ে নানা প্রশ্ন থাকলেও এবার সেটি হালনাগাদ করা হবে এবং একটি স্বচ্ছ তালিকা তৈরি করা হবে। অন্তর্বর্তী সরকার একটি সুন্দর নির্বাচন দেবে বলেও তিনি উল্লেখ করেন।

নির্বাচনের সময়সীমা সম্পর্কে তিনি বলেন, এটি বিভিন্ন বিষয়ের ওপর নির্ভরশীল। জাতিসংঘ অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের প্রতি পূর্ণ সমর্থন জানিয়েছে এবং ফলকার টুর্ক সরকারের সংস্কার কার্যক্রমে সন্তোষ প্রকাশ করেছেন। তবে তিনি বিচার বিভাগ স্বাধীন করা এবং মৃত্যুদণ্ড রহিত করার দুটি প্রত্যাশা জানিয়েছেন।

সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে আসিফ নজরুল বলেন, সরকার চাইলে জাতিসংঘের কাছ থেকে ফরেনসিক বা কারিগরি সহযোগিতা নিতে পারে এবং সুবিচার নিশ্চিত হবে। অতীতে যে অবিচার হয়েছে, এবার তা হবে না।এর আগে টুর্ক সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, আইন উপদেষ্টার সঙ্গে আইনের শাসন ও মানবাধিকার বিষয়ে আলোচনা হয়েছে এবং তিনি আশা প্রকাশ করেন, বর্তমান সংস্কারে মানবাধিকার রক্ষা নিশ্চিত হবে। টুর্ক জানান, ‘জুলাই গণহত্যা নিয়ে তথ্যানুসন্ধান কমিটি কাজ করছে এবং এটি গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হচ্ছে।’

আওয়ামী লীগের আগামী নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহণের বিষয়ে প্রশ্নের জবাবে আসিফ নজরুল বলেন, ‘একটি রাজনৈতিক দল হাজারো মানুষ হত্যা করে, এখনও তাদের নেত্রী বিদেশ থেকে সন্ত্রাসী কার্যক্রমের কথা বলেন। এমন অবস্থায় জনগণ তাঁদের নির্বাচনে আসা মেনে নেবে না বলে আমি মনে করি।’তিনি আরও বলেন, ‘মানুষ বিবেচনা করবে, এমন গণহত্যার পর তাঁদের রাজনৈতিক অধিকার থাকা উচিত কি না।’ এছাড়া জাতিসংঘ সারা পৃথিবীতে মৃত্যুদণ্ড রহিতের কথা বলে তবে অল্প কয়েকটি দেশ তা বাস্তবায়ন করেছে। মৃত্যুদণ্ড রহিত করা আগের কোনো সরকারও করেনি।  আরো

২০০৮ সালে জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে গোলাম মাওলা আওয়ামী লীগের মনোনয়ন পেয়ে প্রথমবার সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হন। পরে ২০১৮ সালে বিএনপিতে যোগ দিয়ে ধানের শীষ প্রতীকে নির্বাচন করেন এবং পরাজিত হন। তিনি আবারও সংসদ নির্বাচনে বিএনপির মনোনয়ন চাইতে পারেন বলে আলোচনা হচ্ছে।

পটুয়াখালী-৩ আসনে গণ অধিকার পরিষদের সভাপতি মো. নুরুল হকের (ভিপি নুর) সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রমে সহযোগিতা করার জন্য বিএনপির নেতা-কর্মীদের মধ্যে আলোচনা চলছে। এই আসনে শেষবার বিএনপির হয়ে নির্বাচন করেছিলেন গোলাম মাওলা রনি, যিনি বলেছেন, ‘তারেক রহমানের সিদ্ধান্তের বাইরে কিছু হবে না। ২২ অক্টোবর বিএনপির সিনিয়র যুগ্ম মহাসচিব রুহুল কবির রিজভী একটি চিঠির মাধ্যমে পটুয়াখালী-৩ আসনে (গলাচিপা-দশমিনা) নুরুল হককে জনসংযোগ ও সাংগঠনিক কার্যক্রমে সহযোগিতা করার জন্য নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন। নুরুল হক পটুয়াখালীর গলাচিপা উপজেলার চরবিশ্বাস ইউনিয়নের বাসিন্দা এবং এই আসনে তাঁর নির্বাচন করার গুঞ্জন দীর্ঘদিন ধরে চলছে। চিঠিটি প্রকাশিত হওয়ার পর বিএনপির নেতা-কর্মীদের মধ্যে নানা প্রতিক্রিয়া দেখা গেছে।

চিঠির বিষয়ে গোলাম মাওলা প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, ‘এখনো আমি এ ব্যাপারে কিছু জানি না, আপনাদের কাছ থেকে শুনলাম। তবে রাজনীতিতে আওয়ামী লীগে শেখ হাসিনা সবকিছু, বিএনপিতে তারেক রহমানের সিদ্ধান্তই চূড়ান্ত।’ নুরুল হক বর্তমানে তারেক রহমানের ঘনিষ্ঠ হিসেবে পরিচিত। গোলাম মাওলা বলেন, ‘এটা বাস্তবতা। যেখানে আমীর খসরু, মির্জা ফখরুলসহ সিনিয়র নেতারা নুরের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে যান, সেখানে তারেক রহমানের সিদ্ধান্ত প্রশ্ন করা অযৌক্তিক।’

তীব্র ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে পরিণত হয়ে ওড়িশার দিকে ধেয়ে যাচ্ছে দানা। ভারতের আবহাওয়া বিভাগ (আইএমডি) জানিয়েছে, শুক্রবার (২৫ অক্টোবর) সকালে এটি ওড়িশা উপকূলের আছড়ে পড়েতে পারে। এর পর ধেয়ে যেতে পারে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে। ইতোমধ্যেই ওড়িশা রাজ্যে ঝুকিপূর্ণ এলাকা থেকে স্থানীয়দের নিরাপদে সরিয়ে নিতে শুরু করেছে কর্তৃপক্ষ। 

ঘূর্ণিঝড় দানার প্রভাবে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের দক্ষিণাঞ্চল ও উপকূলীয় ওড়িশায় ভারী বৃষ্টিপাতের সতর্কতা জারি করা হয়েছে। স্থলভাগে এটি আঘাত হানার পর রাজ্যটির প্রায় অর্ধেক বাসিন্দা প্রভাবিত হবে বলে সতর্ক করেছে কর্তৃপক্ষ।

এদিকে, আইএমডি জানিয়েছে, ঘূর্ণিঝড় দানা শুক্রবার ভোরে ভিতরকানিকা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক এবং ধামরা বন্দরের মধ্যে আছড়ে পড়তে পারে।

উপকূলে আছড়ে পড়ার সময় বাতাসের সর্বোচ্চ গতিবেগ ঘণ্টা প্রায় ১২০ কিলোমিটার হতে পারে। আইএমডি ডিজি মৃত্যুঞ্জয় মহাপাত্র বলেছেন, ‘অতএব, ২৪ অক্টোবর রাত থেকে ২৫ অক্টোবর সকালের মধ্যে আছড়ে পড়ার সময় ভারী বৃষ্টি ও ঝড়ো বাতাস এবং ঢেউ শীর্ষে পৌঁছাবে।’

ঘূর্ণিঝড় দানা স্থলভাগে আছড়ে পড়ার সময় ২ মিটার পর্যন্ত জলোচ্ছ্বাসসহ রাজ্যটিতে ভারী থেকে অতি ভারী বৃষ্টিপাতের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। এমনটি হলে ওড়িশায় একটি বহুমুখী বিপদের সম্মুখীন হতে পারে।

এই দূর্যোগ মোকাবিলায় রাজ্য সরকারের প্রস্তুতি পর্যালোচনা করেছেন ওড়িশার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মোহন চরণ মাঝি। তিনি বলেছেন, বুধবার সন্ধ্যার মধ্যে রাজ্যের ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ এলাকায় বসবাসকারী ৩ থেকে ৪ লাখ বাসিন্দাকে নিরাপদে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার সকালেও ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ অঞ্চলে উচ্ছেদ প্রক্রিয়া অব্যাহত থাকবে
